In 2014, Heidi Sousa earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree for Interior Architecture from the Interior Designers Institute in Newport Beach, California.  She has been a member of the American Society on Interior Designers, ASID since 2010.  Her journey to this program is somewhat unique.  Heidi inherited her natural design flare from her mother, who was an accomplished European seamstress.  She developed a strong sense of design and always had a desire to acquire a degree. Following her marriage to a farmer and raising three kids, she continued to create projects and became involved in many different activities and events with her family.

     She designed and developed a retail furniture and home decor store named, Simple Elegance in 2003.  Heidi Sousa Event Planning was established in 2008 after she coordinated the wedding of a client's daughter.  At the urging of a friend of Heidi's daughter, she decided to take a class at IDI.  This experience led her to continue her education and earn the degree in design.

     Heidi interned at Hatch Design Group in Costa Mesa, which specializes in hospitality design.  Her passion for her work and family has never subsided.  With experience, creativity and the love of design that continues to grow and change every day, Heidi brings a highly cultivated, heartfelt skill to each design project she undertakes.

      She currently, lives on a farm with her husband Sam, and is blessed with seven grandchildren.
